Registrations for the 2018/2019 Junior Blasters season are now now closed.

How do I register my child for the Junior Blasters Cricket program?

Parents must register online, and payment is required at this time.  

When available, register you child for the 2018/19 season here.

How much is it?

The cost is $99 per child.

What if I can't register online?

Can I pay for my children in one transaction rather than separately?

No, each child needs to be registered individually as all participants receive a pack with a shirt and other items.

Can I still register mid-way through the season?

You can register and go to the next available session. However, please contact us before completing the registration form to ensure there are enough sessions left to provide value for your child’s cricket development.

What is the Junior Blasters program?

Junior Blasters is for kids new to cricket with participants building their skills through fun, game based activities. The activites are designed for small groups to ensure every child gets a go, allowing them to test and learn new skills in a supportive, non-competitive environment.The active, inclusive program allows kids to make friends, develop social skills and team work. It's about fun, fitness and being a good sport!

As a Junior Blaster participants will learn how to catch, throw, bat and bowl while developing their game sense in fun interactive activities. It's specially designed for kids new to cricket. When they have mastered the basics they will be ready to graduate to Master Blasters where they can play modified games of cricket.

Junior Blasters is a fun and fast program, completed in a maximum of 60 minutes. All equipment is supplied and each participant receives a participant pack comprising a sticker sheet, skill scorecard, bat, ball, shirt, and bucket hat so kids can practice their skills during the program and at home with family and friends. Note that the bat will be separately presented to participants prior to the first session.

Can parents get involved?

The Junior Blaster program is designed for parents to get involved and spend some quality time with their child learning the skills of cricket.  Parents involvement is a huge determinant of participant enjoyment, skill progression and achievement.  The ‘Blast Crew’ has been developed to provide clarity and options for parents and volunteers to get involved.

How old does my child have to be to participate?

The program is for girls and boys aged between 5 - 8 years old.

What ability is the program aimed at?

Junior Blasters is aimed at boys and girls aged 5-8 and of all abilities. Absoloutley no prior experience with cricket is necessary.

Junior Blasters is Australian cricket's entry level particpation program. It is designed to teach children the basics of the game in a fun, safe environment.

How do I get my Junior Blasters participant pack?

Participant packs are sent to the address you register with. This will be approximately 7-10 days after registration in September.

What are the dates for the program and how long does each session go for?

The program runs for 12 weeks, six sessions before Christmas and six after.  

All sessions are one hour and start at 5:30pm, finishing at 7:00pm. We will reconfirm starting times closer to the programme start.

The first session is on Friday the 2nd of November 2018 and then every Friday after this, until Friday the 7th of December 2018 where we break for Christmas.

We then resume for the first session after the Christmas break on Friday the 18th of January 2019 and go through until Friday the 22nd of February 2019. 

How safe is the program and are particpants insured?

The weekly lesson plans for the Junior Blasters Cricket program have been carefully written by Cricket Australia and the program is supported by the Australian Sports Commission. Each venue has been selected for its suitability to be used for this type of program.

Our program is run by a Cricket Australia Level 1 Accredited coach and once a particpant's parent/guardian signs a registration form, particpants are insured.

If you have a medical and/or a physical condition that may require you needing assistance during the program, make sure you tell us on the form when you register. This way, we know who you are and can ensure our staff are there to help you if you need it.

What if I am too old for the Junior Blasters program or I want to move onto playing junior cricket?

We have an excellent junior program and offer both the Junior Master Blasters program and an Under 12 Rookies team for kids just starting out in junior cricket.

What happens if it rains on the day of the first session?

Please come if it rains on the day of the first session. Further information will be provided in Week 1 so it's important you come along, no matter how the weather is. Your instructors will tell you at this session what to do if it rains in other weeks.

What do I wear to Junior Blasters Cricket?

This season all participants are supplied with a Junior Blasters Cricket Shirt and bucket hat, so it is suggested that this is worn as well as other clothing suitable for playing sport. Remember to be Sun Smart!
